Mary Kay CC Cream SPF15 Review: No Hulas Effect | Elli Evangelista

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. I became a happy customer before I decided to become an Independent Team Leader of Mary Kay. I blog about Mary Kay products for the main reason of sharing to you what it has done for me and what it can do for you. [ ALL TESTIMONIALS ARE PURELY MADE OUT OF INTEGRITY]

Mary Kay CC Cream SPF15 Review is my first ever beauty product review blog and you’ll find out why.

I haven’t imagine myself blogging about beauty products and look where we are right now! I believe that I can’t share enough knowledge about beauty but I need to share to you this product.

I tried so many liquid, cream, and everything foundation ever since I started digging out make-up from my Mom’s Kikay Kit. She had sooo many it’s fun just to look at ’em! I had never found a perfect product best suited for my skin – oily, sweats a lot, and had skin imperfections need to be covered. Until Mom gave this product for me to try.

Fresh Make-Up | Makati – QC (via Bus)

This is what I usually put on my face every single day:

  • Mary Kay CC Cream Very Light SPF15
  • Mary Kay Perfecting Concealer Light Ivory
  • Mary Kay Brow Liner Brunette
  • Mary Kay Cheek Color Shy Blush
  • Mary Kay Lipstick Tranquil Toffee

You see, I’ve put all my trust to the brand to the extent that everything I use and recommend is Mary Kay. 😉

Let us zoom in to the foundation – Mary Kay CC Cream Very Light SPF15. Today, I conducted a Skin Care Class at Quezon City Hall and took the opportunity to test out the no-hulas effect of Mary Kay CC Cream. FYI, I took the public transportation for the whole day to see what would be the effect when exposed to dirt, sunlight, sweat, and extreme humid air.

Just arrived at QC! Had to walk a little from my drop off point because the Main Building is situated on the center.

QC to Greenbelt via Bus

Banas face because of extreme heat & the naughty kid beside me. Woops, no retouch allowed!

Greenbelt 1

Touch down Greenbelt! I had to tie up my hair because I was covered in full sweat from walking from the bus drop-off point beside SM Makati to Greenbelt 1. Woops, no retouch allowed pa rin!

Greenbelt 1 to Reposo via Jeep

Wrapping my day off! Sooo, the myth was true! No hulas effect for me kahit na grabe pagpawisan. I think Mary Kay CC Cream SPF15 has done it for my skin. This is the product for me! Very amazed of the finish of the product on my skin even after a long, tiring, commuting day.

MORE ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Mary Kay CC Cream SPF15 has 2 shades:

Mary Kay CC Cream in Very Light

Perfect for light complexions like mine.

Mary Kay CC Cream in Light to Medium

Perfect for beautiful morena skin.

Mary Kay CC Cream SPF15 benefits summarized:

  • Light-weight Coverage
  • Hydration
  • Moisturization
  • Has SPF15 for sun protection
  • Brightens the complexion
  • Lessens redness of the skin
  • Defends against skin-damaging radicals
  • Anti-aging

I would recommend this over any other products; it has been working for me and I know it will work for you too. My only time to retouch is to apply some powder and that’s it. This product has made it possible for me to look my best even I am always – and I mean always – in sweat. (Humid air in the Philippines is to blame) Most of all: it has everything, not just to cover my skin but to protect and nurture my skin as well. 😉

Be your own beautiful,

SulateraPH: Easy DIY Bookmark For Beginners

When I read a book, I always forget where I left off. This happened to me recently and I just have to stop from reading and make them lil bookmarks. Yep, ang daming time! (Yes, I’ve got so much time to spare!)

FYI, I made several bookmarks – took one for myself and gave the rest of it to my lovies at Mary Kay PH. ^_^

So let’s get makin’ them babies!

Here are the materials you’ll need:

  • 2 Special Papers sized 4 x 5.5″ or a half of a short bond paper (with atleast 200gsm) – I used scratch papers from a recent invitation project. If you have trouble finding this kind of paper or figuring what the heck is a 200gsm, here’s a guide.

Step 1:

Prepare 2 pieces of 4 x 5.5″ and cut excess edges so they are perfectly aligned with each other.

Step 2:

Glue them together. I used an ordinary glue you can buy at local book stores.

Step 3:

Check if edges are glued perfectly because you’re gonna cut ’em to pieces later and they can’t fall off!

Step 4:

Grab your scissors and cut the special paper into narrow rectangles – in any size you want and in how many you can make out of the 4 x 5.5″ paper. I was able to do 3 and a remainder!

Step 5:

Now, let’s style it with cute washi tapes! I bought mine at a sale at Landmark Makati at only Php 14.75. (I’m such a hoarder for art stuff!) Now they’re back at Php 30. (Click for cute washi tapes)

Step 5.5

Like Jenny on 90 Days Fiance, don’t be road. But act like a ked. Line your bookmarks with style! You can do it like these or have it your most artsy way 😉

Step 6:

Draw an outline so you won’t be lost when you finalize it with brush pen. Especially when you’re not sure what your hand will produce – like me – always!

Step 7:

Take out your brush pen and draw following the pencil outline. I’m using Black Brush Pen by Artline, you can find it here.

Step 7.5 (optional)

Go wild – use calligraphy or add watercolor paint to express your style on your bookmark! Imagination is your limit 😉 I’m using Nikko G Nibs 240, Speedball Calligraphy Pen Holder, and Speedball Calligraphy India Ink.

Step 7.5.2 (optional)

You can opt to use different color of brush pen – or ordinary color pens. I best recommend Dong-A My Color 2 series – it has a thinner ballpoint on the other end that I can use on my planner. ^_^

You can stop here and you have an artsy bookmark for you to use on your reading – or you can go extra!

Bonus Step 1:

Bring out your puncher and a yarn (color of your choice). I used a kraft yarn I bought from a bazaar sale, but you can also find it here.

And then punch the hell outta that bookmark, put the yarn through it and tie it to a knot.

And we’re finished!

Now go make your own version of it and show me and I’ll feature it on my IG account @Sulatera7 ^_^

Love,

Elli – SulateraPH

JOBLESSED: I’m Still Blessed Even I’m Jobless

There’s definitely a reason why you left your previous job. Whatever the reason is, it’s always for the better. Now, you’re sitting there switching at different job posting platforms, searching for positions related to your background, inspecting each job post if it gives you a certain feel (because you don’t want to be wrong this time), submitting your resume – editing it so it would look as pleasing as you want it to be. But up until now, no one has called yet.

Millions of people are fighting over few job positions including the newly graduates – yeap, they’re included in your competitors list too. Scarcity of jobs will make people kill for a position on the corporate world. At this rate, you’re like Katniss Everdeen from Hunger Games – arrow ready at arms-length to strike when the enemies attack.

Let’s step up your game shall we?

You should first realize that you’re still blessed! Blessed because you have the time of your life to spend on those areas you missed all these years being busy. Blessed because (even at this little time of freedom), you’re away from corporate-stress. Blessed because you’re still alive and breathing – you still see the sun rise and set. Blessed because you still have the reasons to smile and thank God for this pause in your story; this pause that made you look at your past achievements and let you realize that you did good.

Now that you’re up and motivated, let’s do something with THAT PAUSE!

7 Streams of Income You Can Definitely Do While You’re Waiting

  1. Direct Selling – There are lots of Direct Selling Businesses here in the Philippines. You just have to choose where you fit best. For girls and women like me who are into makeup and skin care, I best recommend being part of Mary Kay Philippines (ask me on this ;))
  2. Online Jobs / Virtual Careers – This is a trend right now and I’m hearing news that this business would take over the whole world very soon. Why not start now? (You can also ask me on this ;))
  3. Study what you Love (For Free) – You can search everything on Youtube! Tutorials, reviews, and etc. Use every free resource you can find on the internet & go pursue that passion 😉
  4. Start a blog about your journey – Like me! It has always been my passion to write and now that I have all the time on my hands, I’m writing about my #JOBLESSED journey. You should too!
  5. Affiliate Marketing – Sign up on Lazada Affiliate Marketing or Amazon Affiliate Marketing and start writing or promoting about it. Good thing about this – it’s a passive income. So even if you are not active on promoting anymore, so long as they click on your affiliate link – you’ll have bucks, baby!
  6. Side Businesses are always a good idea! 😉 – Do you like drawing? Do you have a talent in calligraphy or graphic arts? Why not sell your artworks? So the world will hear your voice through your art. 😉
  7. Sell old stuff – just like author Kondo on her book “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up”; declutter your closet and sell those clothes you don’t wear anymore, or collectibles you don’t like anymore. A tidied closet leads to a tidied life. 😉

See – other people would give up everything just to have time to do what they really like to do. And here you are, being time-rich and all (even for this small time of freedom (again)). Who says you’re not blessed? You’re blessed in every phase of your life because everything will fall to God’s perfect timing.

Trust the timing. 😉

Best,

Elli Evangelista

Millennial Major: It’s Okay To Quit Your Job

When a millennial takes a stand for something out of the norm – like doing things differently, jumping to a company after another, deciding to quit after some years of tender, choosing to do freelance work than corporate work – people say “ganyan kayo mag-isip kasi millennial kayo. Madali kayo magsawa. Madali kayo ma-bore.(You think that way because you’re a millennial. You easily get tired. You easily get bored.) And they mean it like it’s a deficiency. I beg to differ. I think this is the reason why millennials stand out and achieve more at an early age.

I recently quit my job and it’s the biggest yet best decision I ever did in my life. It’s a decision I ran over my head numerous times and sometimes I wanted to take it back. Every time I’m close to doing so, I was reminded of what I really want to happen to my life; to leave a legacy. I was in the company for 1 year & 6 months. It was all I ever wanted after I graduated – the job, the company, and the kind of office mates I dreamed of. But this is that point in time where I realized that I was staying because of only one “dreamed-of” left. Whatever it may be, I realized that the other two “dreamed-of” were not what I wanted seeing the aftermath of the grace period (time when everything seems perfect because you were a newbie). When this happens, it’s time to pack your bags and move on.

7 Reasons Why It’s Okay to Quit Your Job

1. You’re not appreciated. Whatever you do, your boss doesn’t recognize what you’ve achieved. May it be as small as getting a potential client or making a sale – your boss doesn’t seem to care.

(gif credits: Tumblr)

2. You’re not growing. Your boss doesn’t give you something to challenge your skills and talents and make the upper management see what you’re made of. Hey boss, I’m here!

(gif credits: Tumblr)

3. You’re stressed and unhappy every day. You don’t know why you wake up 5am in the morning and go to work anymore. You’re not excited and you can’t feel the flame burning in your heart because all you can feel is your increasing stress level.

(gif credits: Tumblr)

4. You’re not compensated well. Benefits are far from what you needed, no allowances, extra work but no extra pay. Basically, you’re paid under minimum salary.

(gif credits: Tumblr)

5. You don’t fit in the company culture. Negativity, crab mentality, lack of democracy, biased decision making, unfair job assignment – and you can’t change anything since it’s a permanent thing. All you can do is sway with the wave. But you don’t want this kind of workplace anymore!

(gif credits: Tumblr)

6. You’re assigned bigger tasks but your pay check isn’t bigger. You’re promoted from rank and file to team lead which means handling bigger tasks there’s no increase on your salary. Isn’t it a bit unfair?

(gif credits: Tumblr)

7. You think you deserve better. The love for your job is like love for someone special. You won’t get the idea of having better if what you got is already the best.

(gif credits: Tumblr)

It’s 2018 and millennials are taking over – I believe sticking with your job just because it sustains you is on the bottom list of a young professional millennial. There are so many ways to earn money other than having a corporate job (which you hate) – virtual careers, direct selling, online selling, multi-level marketing, and even offline or traditional business. Finally, people are starting to wake up- I mean catch up- to an era of business building. Millennials are the perfect people to benefit in this era because we have minimum responsibilities and maximum vision.

Millennials are after growth. We are after what drives our passion; where we most feel happy even if it doesn’t provide fixed income. Millennials want to be where we feel we are helping the world be a better place; where we feel like we are helping those in need.

They are right – millennials easily get bored. Their minds are built to innovate – to find and adapt to change. Yes, they decide faster. Their drive and vision is overflowing that they take the step to do something about it – to know what works and what doesn’t from practical application. Yes, they leave when they feel it’s not worth it. They are designed to work on what wholly nurtures them – our talents, our vision, our skills, our hearts, our minds, and our mission.

So go on, pursue your passion. Go to your happy place. Do what makes you feel happy; what feels right; what makes you you.

CafExclusive: First Look on Cafe Plus Dasma

December 24, 2017

The City of Dasmarinas at the heart of Cavite is indeed booming with innovations after innovations of coffee shops and restaurants. These kinds of start-ups are the business trends nowadays. No wonder why entrepreneurs from all over the world choose to start their own in the Philippines: Filipinos love to eat – And, of course, – Filipinos welcome any kind of innovations especially when Filipino taste is combined with other international taste!

Two courageous beauty-and-brains Taiwanese darlings dared to start their own in the Philippines!

Pipi and I met online. She just added me on the page of their coffee shop which she actually runs herself! – Coffee Plus

(Try to send them a heartwarming message or inquiry about their business and she’ll surely reply to you! ♥)

They were posting pieces of the progress of their shop from scratch (cement and hollow blocks) to a small but comfy place that it is right now. Something was getting my attention every time they’re posting online and I took one courageous step to ask them if they could tell me about their business and how they started. Without any hesitations, they agreed!

Hey, start-ups are always great and as long as it’s run by passion and perseverance, I believe it will succeed!

This was my first visit on their shop. It’s a small place from the outside – but what they did with the interior is astonishing! I was able to meet Connie, Pipi’s business partner, and she’s as bubbly and welcoming as Pipi (even when I am only able to talk to her online 😉 ) We met at a very time-constraint event but we were able to talk about almost all of there is to talk about heh, heh!

Their flavors feature a mix of Taiwanese flavor and Filipino Flavor – they also feature Korean-inspired flavors since Filipinos are into it nowadays. (Talk about K-drama and K-pop invasion!) This is Hazelnut Frappe, and the other one is Citrus Frappe (I think, can’t remember the name but it’s a perfect combination of citrus-y flavors: perfect for an everyday drink here in this tropical island of the Philippines ).  I was able to take a bite of their yummy Chocolate and Korean Honey Apple Tea waffles – ordinary waffles made extraordinary with their mouthwatering flavors!

See, I told you they did an amazing job with their interior!

Prices are also very, very affordable! Their staff are also very friendly and accommodating – never imagined a small place offer so much. And it’s a start-up! 😉

They’ve got a lot more new exciting flavors you must try! I’ve been to a lot of coffee shops but their flavors actually surprised me. It’s a fresh new variety of cold drinks 😉

This is Connie, my now good friend – Thank God, we were able to get a two-fie with the limited time we got 😉 Hope to be with you and Pipi soon!

To Pipi and Connie, my new friends from NY, thank you for letting me be part of your success 🙂 I love to see your business grow as time goes by. My Cafe Plus experience was great and I am definitely coming back for more of it!

Visit Cafe Plus! It will be a worthwhile trip! ♥

Annyeong Bingsu!: Ho Bing Korean Dessert Cafe

November 13, 2017

The Philippines is a tropical country and is well known for the wonders in its territory. It is also known for its humid weather all-year round and that’s why they have ice-based desserts, such as their local Halo halo and Ice Candy.

For years and years, Filipino culture has been influenced by many foreign visitors – from the Spaniards to the Americans. Our music, our food, our fashion – everything has been continuously changing. Today, we are greatly influenced by the Korean Culture.

Desserts & Culture

Talk about desserts & Korean Culture as an influencer to Filipinos – Ho Bing Korean Dessert Cafe brings Bing Su for Filipinos to taste!

Desserts That Will Surprise Your Taste Buds

Bingsu, or Patbingsu, literally means pat (팥) red beans + bingsu (빙수) shaved ice is a Korean dessert with sweet toppings like fruits, red beans, ice cream, or whipped cream.

It dated back during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897) when, “the government office in charge of the royal ice box ― would share ice with fellow officials, who would enjoy it finely crushed and mixed with fruit for a granita-like dessert.” (Korea Herald)

I guess it has been a famous dessert since the 1300s. Variations of Bing Su developed through the years in the making and Matcha Green Tea is one of those variations.

For all the Matcha Lovers like me – the first thing you’ll look for in ANY menu is something with Matcha, Green Tea, or combination of the two. I know, I know. It’s okay, girl. Of course, I opted for Matcha Green Tea.

O M G, let me tell you one thing, Ho Bing’s version is screaming in flavor! The shaved ice is mixed with matcha powder topped with red beans, sweet potato, and almonds. Don’t worry, it’s not just full of ice. You get the same stuff inside the ice! (Dig, dig, dig to find the treasure!)

They also serve desserts with fruit toppings such as their Choco Banana. Ice shavings topped with crushed graham, bananas, mangoes, whipped cream, and choco syrup. It has also another layer of crushed graham in the middle hiding. 😉

Their Choco Brownies is not just a delight to the eyes but also to the buds! The shaved ice is mixed with crushed chocolate cookies, toppings are chocolate brownies, chocolate ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate syrup. All the chocolate locos will surely enjoy this meal! This is actually their biggest serving which can feed up to 3 people.

See the difference of their regular size and large size; both worth their price!

Massive, Delicious, Healthy, Irresistible Burgers | H.I.D. Burgers, Makati, PH

October 7, 2017

Makati is known as the Central Business District of Manila. It caters a lot of BPO, Real Estate, and Consulting Businesses. Given these facts, almost 80% of the population live and/or work in Makati. Hence, the traffic. Hence, the pollution. Despite all that, the city still offers great experience in food and beverage places with numerous innovative food businesses around the area.

I am a South girl and I will always be. I just have to live in Makati because my body doesn’t carry enough energy to come to work in Makati (now in BGC) from Cavite and then vice versa. #CaviteGirlProblems Time after time, I am amazed of new discoveries by living here. I discovered remote places which offers quality Korean Food, Mexican Food, Street Foods (which I rarely see here). I also recently discovered a shortcut going to North BGC from Kalayaan, the infamous ‘Butas’ known to cater those who are late for work and offer petsa de peligro meals for all. For almost a year of living here, I only visited a couple of restaurants around Makati Ave. and Ayala Ave. because it still takes so much time going home even if you’re just less than 5kms away.

One of these excellent restaurants is Healthy and Irresistibly Delicious (H.I.D) Burgers. It is a small place located at Caltex Gas Station facing Export Bank in Malugay, Makati City. If you’re coming from Dela Rosa, it’s a one jeep ride going to Makati Ave. If you’re coming from Ayala Station/SM Makati/Glorietta, it’s also a one jeep ride going to Washington.

I am not a fan of burgers but H.I.D Burgers taught me how to love ’em. With just 250php, you have a sumptuous meaty burger and potato wedges which will make you forget your problems. It will instantly be a rewarding day with every bite.

Look at them hot buns! It looks small but never underestimate the power of a 1/4 or 1/3 pound of pure meat! It’s so delicious and savory you’ll not notice you’re just halfway through it but your belly is ready to burst. (Well I just had a 1/4 pound bacon & mushroom melt delivered at my doorstep for dinner (Thanks Foodpanda!) and I still feel heavy but I’m craving for more heh heh heh – I can hear my bae saying kakain ka nanaman, kakakain mo lang!)

I have been to many burger places influenced by people around me who likes them (or sometimes I go because it’s free) but H.I.D. ranks Most Affordable and Meaty of all. It’s obviously mouthwatering and suprisingly belly-bursting!

That weird looking burger was ordered by my Mom. She’s pretty much into anything healthy. Good thing they offer this so we can ask her to eat with us and don’t have to sneak out just to eat here. One more point for H.I.D. Burgers – Certified Mom Approved!

Bacon & Mushroom Melt – super duper meaty patty – can be single patty or double patty or 1/4 pound or 1/3 pound – however you like it! Double it up with sumptuous wedges. Oh, heaven!!!

Look at these piranhas!

Their eating faces show my ratings for this food hub!

And this is mine! Bacon and Mushroom Melt 1/4 Pound Double Patty  and that mouthful says it all! Homnomnomnom *strange noises*

If you’re looking for a great eat-out and you’re a burger kinda guy, you’ll enjoy your time here! I highly recommend HID Burgers!

Why You Should Love A Business Major | Elli Evangelista

Share your educational attainment and why you chose it

Who does not want to be loved? Whatever your major is or whoever you are, you deserve your forever love. I’m a Business Major (and also dating a Business Major) and this is a little biased but let me just tell you 5 reasons why we are also worth your love. 😉

  1. We just don’t plainly do it, we strategically plan it. Forever is feasible with us because we don’t just do whatever we want to do – we don’t love just for the sake of loving; We analyze every situation, consider every detail, and we plan and schedule every move (through Gantt Chart) to make you insanely happy and in love through all the times we’re going to be together. tumblr_oizi4xGDFu1vc125zo1_500.gif
  2. We just don’t plan, we make it happen. In business, trial and error has always been the best practice to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the company – what to change, where to improve, and when to implement. Dito palang evident na na we make do of something out of nothing. We turn something (successful or not) out of scratch and we always focus on its winning and losing points (SWOT Analysis) for focal points of improvement. tumblr_o2eflejUxA1twh39ho1_500.gif
  3. We just don’t make it happen, we strive for innovation and improvement. We always, as in always, seek for innovation and improvement in our work. We determine our weaknesses and turn it into strengths. We focus on continuously making ourselves the perfect fit for you (Kaizen). Dude, expect to receive the craziest, wildest, sweetest (the world will be jealous) efforts for you because we always strive for innovation.tumblr_njkmf5nIi81svl1j1o1_500.gif
  4. We just don’t make it fruitful, we implement and evaluate. Business majors will make do of every way possible to capture your heart every moment of your life. But we just don’t make it possible, again, we always pursue for continuous improvement.tumblr_o1br42w8mY1qj4315o1_500.gif
  5. We strive for perfection. We are trained to commit minimal defects per million opportunities (dpmo) (Six Sigma, Lean Management). This says it all. We want everything perfect and best for you – we WILL make ourselves like it; we WILL be it.tumblr_o1n5bisQap1smqfiko1_500.gif

PS. You don’t have to worry about us meeting all the important people in your life – we know how to deal with people – whatever their personalities are and how we should market ourselves and showcase how much we deeply feel for you (all yours, baby! Heart, Mind, and Soul!)  (Business Ethics and Good Governance, Human Resource Management, Human Behavior in Organizations, Marketing and Advertising Management)

Why not love a business major so you can have your forever – defined, measured, analyzed, improved, and controlled? 😉 (DMAIC Approach)

21 Things My 21-year-old Self Would Tell My 16-year-old Self

Describe how different you are different from the person you were 5 years ago

Breaking the rules again – I find it hard to describe myself so why not give a list of the things I want to tell myself 5 years ago. Without further ado, here it is!

  1. Take your academics seriously. Even if you don’t understand a subject or two, still try to study and know it from a different angle. Eventually it will turn up and you will get it. Be active in recitations, in learning.
  2. It’s okay not to be number 1. I know that there are times that you won’t get the highest mark no matter how hard you try. It’s okay. You gave your best and you are better now.
  3. It’s okay not to be perfect. You have flaws you are worrying right now. You have many pimples, you have baby hair, you have belly fat, you don’t have enough money, you don’t have enough confidence, you don’t have pretty dresses, you don’t have expensive make ups. I tell you, it’s okay. Your imperfections are what makes you. They make you human and they make you who you are. You have pimples but you are still striving for your dreams. you have baby hair but at least you can smile at things, you have belly fat but at least you can eat and buy the food you’re craving for.
  4. Spend time with your family and friends as much as you can. Time is precious. You don’t know what can happen in an instant. This time you have all the time but soon you’ll have so many things to do and be very busy. Take this time to spend as much time with them as you can. Trust me, someday you’ll wish you can still do this.
  5. Give your best to all. Whether you’re just helping a friend, or doing a group project, or co-hosting a huge college event – do it always out of love and it will nourish you inside and out.
  6. Love as if you’ve never been broken before. Those who are strong to love are also strong amidst heart break. It will happen. You will meet people who are not worthy of your time but you’ll still love them anyway. You will meet people who will show you what it is to be love but they will still leave you – you’ll still love them anyway. I know you give away love as easy as giving candies on Halloween but that’s the good part about you. You love with all your heart. Despite the heart breaks, don’t give up on love.
  7. Sleep soundly as much as you can. Trust me. You need this. If you can sleep for 9 hours – sleep. If you can sleep more than that – sleep. You won’t be able to sleep as much as you want after college. Trust me because I just had 4 hrs of sleep last night.
  8. Do the things you want to do for yourself. Take that special course, pursue your dreams, learn something new, learn a new hobby. Do it even if someone is stopping you. Do it even if it costs you a heart break. Do it at any cost. Invest in yourself first.
  9. Join college activities. Attend the General Assembly, the math competition, the cheer leading competition, the quiz bee, the book lover’s day, attend as many college activities as you can without sacrificing your academics. Whether you’ll earn an extra point or not, join them!
  10. Appreciate everything, especially the smallest things. It may seem that the world is unfair to you sometimes and this is the time to reflect on the smallest things in life. Then you’ll realize that it is not unfair – you’re just not seeing the good things the world offered you in a day. You might not get something you want but something offered what you need – may be it a seat in the bus or even just a simple smile. Appreciate the smallest things and everything in your life will be wonderful.
  11. It’s okay to be hurt. The friends you will meet today will decrease incredibly over time. There will be friends who will betray you and leave you in hurtful feelings. It’s okay. Get up and keep moving. Cherish who will stay by your side because they will keep their word until their last breath. Let other people leave and take care of who will stay. Sometimes you will not to be able to reach what is required of you or you are not able to do a task which is crucial to the overall result of something you want to achieve, it’s okay. Start again and keep trying until you actually do.
  12. It’s okay to be heartbroken. Emphasizing this because you will encounter different heartbreaks overtime. There will be a love that you though would be the last, a love that you though would love you back, a love that made you feel the love you deserve – and every one of these failed. You’ll be broken, you’ll cry your eyes out, and it’s okay. Wipe your tears and get going. Life’s worth it all.
  13. It’s okay to fail. Emphasizing this because also because failures are part of success. You will fail and continue failing over time. But the important this is you’re getting stronger and better. The next time you try, you’ll surely succeed. So shake it off and keep going.
  14. Focus on what’s important. As what I’ve said, invest in yourself first. Never mind the other things – just focus on your goal.
  15. Focus on what you want to become in the future. Do you want to become a businessman? or a blogger? or an artist? or a entrepreneur? List a series of tasks you will do everyday to do something about your dream. Focus on the overall result and never mind what comes along the way. Heartbreaks? Failures? Rejections? Conquer it all. Don’t mind them. Just focus on what you want.
  16. It’s okay to be lost. You’ll be confused. You’ll ask many questions about what you are doing. It’s okay. Question yourself all you want and even try to find the answers through activities (travel). If you don’t find it, don’t worry. It will pop-up your head at the right time. It’s okay to slack off a bit and wonder  about your plans. After that, recover yourself. Keep going.
  17. Don’t mind what others say. Keep your eyes focused on your goal and keep your ears only to the voices that will help you along the way. Negative vibes are not welcome!
  18. Do the best you can and then take a day off. It’s okay to slack off after a day of hard work. Take the time off and relax! It’s okay to step out of your throne and go swimming once in a while. Not only you will regain strength from doing so but you will also find inspiration out of a refreshed mind.
  19. Nurture life. Dear, life is full of wonders. Enjoy it while it lasts. 🙂
  20. Someone will love you for who you are. Yes, someone will. That’s why I am telling you to never give up on love. Just love the best way you can every time. It will be worth it at the end. Don’t rush it – I know you’re asking ‘when?’ at this moment. Unfortunately, I can’t answer that. But I can assure you, it will be so magically wonderful you’ll know and feel it in your heart. All your being will be caught up in the moment and you’ll know it for sure.
  21. Remember that God is all. Through your success and hardships, God will always be there giving all your needs that any human force can’t give you. He will use people in your life to make you feel that He is there but when you feel there’s no one just close your eyes and meditate in His love. Let your body accept His embrace, your heart accept His love. You are His greatest creation and He will use you to spread His greatest gift to the world – LOVE.

PS. Day 7 came earlier than Day 6 because I’m currently brewing something new for Day 6 and I am taking my time for it. 😉 Keep in touch!

With all my love,

Elli

Day 5: Share a time you felt down and what happened after

Day 5 topic is as sad as hell and you don’t wanna read that as much as I do. You know me, I like breaking the rules. I’ll skip this and just write a recent event I felt happy. Everyone wants to happy. (Jollibee Bee happy!)

My Bestfriend’s “Kdrama Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” 21st Birthday Celebration

If you want to have a unique birthday bash and you just want to spend it with the most special people in your life (or you just don’t have that much budget), then I best recommend a night out at the busiest business districts around Manila like we did for our best friend Angel.

Preparation

  • Qualify your resources – does someone in your circle of friends own a place around Makati or BGC? If none, how much would each one be willing to contribute for the place? I best recommend properties around Makati Avenue (Makati) or High Street (BGC). You can rent a GOOD place as low as Php 2,000 – 3,000 accompanied with free use of property amenities. For our case, it happened that I am renting a place in Makati which is also near Makati Ave (just a few blocks away) so we didn’t have a problem with the place.
    • Look for packages with access in amenities – you’ll need it!
    • If the broker/owner has pictures of the unit – ask for it.
    • Don’t forget to ask opinion from people joining you.
    • Secure it & book it!
  • List the Possibilities! – What do you want to do? Do you want a night binge drinking? Bar hopping? Casual Food Trips? Whatever it is, GMG (Google mo, Girl) nearby places and look for possible alternatives. Don’t look for one, two, or even three places. List as many as you can!
  • Time after time – Maximize your time. Allot at least 2 hrs for each destination (if you have many especially if you opt to do bar hopping or food trips). It’s best if the places in your itinerary are near each other that you can walk going there so traffic won’t eat your time.

During

  • Just stick with the schedule! Well, me & my best friend are always and forever late so instead of starting at 2pm as originally planned, they actually reached our place at 5pm, nice right? We started right away while Mark (someone’s special someone – can’t mention here; issues will come out hahahaha jk) was still cookin’ our food for the night. We didn’t have all the time to do everything overnight but we were able to do the important stuff with our time (catching up, and beauty secrets sharing of course heh heh)

After

  • Take out the trash & leave no evidence. No explanations needed. Have a little shame, friend. Clean up your trash!
  • Follow up Walwal. You’ll miss it. Follow up the continuation walwal ASAP!

For Angel’s 21st Birthday: our itinerary was not planned, we just went with whatever was available. We did a little catch up while swimming and we decided to stroll and buy more food even if we still had Mark’s cooked food just slightly eaten. Yes, we bought Korean foods at Assi Mart Korean Grocery along Makati Ave. near A.venue. If you plan to have a food adventure, you can include A.venue on your list – you can find so many interesting restaurants there.

Look at what we bought! (Shout out to whomever that extra feet belongs)

Sharing you our pics and snaps of our adventure!

Best,

Elli
